What Companion Guide does
Companion Guide helps adult beginners understand AI companions and prepare for a first character conversation. It covers the basic terms, the difference between companions and assistants, and questions to consider before choosing a service.
You can use the explanations without opening a chat or buying anything. The guide does not provide mental health treatment, a security certification, or a ranked list of tested platforms.
Companion Guide Team
Articles are credited to Companion Guide Team. This is the guide’s shared author name; it is not a claim that each article was written or reviewed by a named specialist.
AI tools assist with research organization, drafting, and editing. The site owner is assigned responsibility for ordinary editorial review. That assignment does not mean review of a particular article is complete. The ordinary article texts have been accepted by the owner; source-by-source review and specialist checks remain separate.
Our relationship with WantYou.ai
Companion Guide is a partner site of WantYou.ai.
Keep that relationship in mind when reading about WantYou or other platforms. Partnership does not establish that a product has passed a test. Read the Partnership disclosure for the scope and limits of this statement.
How our content is prepared
A company’s documentation, an illustrative example, and an observed product result are different kinds of material. Our editorial standard requires those distinctions to remain visible, along with material limitations.
Read Our editorial and corrections policy for source checks, examples, review requirements, and corrections. A source-check date records work on the source; it is not a substitute for a product test or a human sign-off.
Contact the editorial team
For the status of editorial questions and corrections, see Contact the editorial team. Requests are not being accepted through this preview. The contact route is for Companion Guide content, not WantYou account or billing support.
